We were proud to do some home remodeling jobs for former pro baseball player Joe McClain and his wife Wilma. After remodeling their bathroom a few months back we were called back to build a carport.
Photo of Joe McClain is in 1962. Joe was nice enough to say a few words about McKinney Home Improvement. Have a look at this short video!
Please forgive me, this is my first interview. I spoke to Joe while the guys are hammering away in the background!
This “Before” photo shows the condition of the cabinets to be refinished.
Stained cabinets can be refinished nicely without stripping with the superior faux finishing products I use. However some of the door fronts and paneled areas in this kitchen had carved scratches into the wood by children and had to be sanded down past the original stain. When this problem exists these areas have to be base coated and faux stained to look like the original wood.
This next photo shows three panels on the bar front. On the far right you can see the beginning stages of the faux process while the other two will be just stained over to show the true wood grain. The yellow base coat is in the areas with the deep scratches.
Below in the finished photo compare them with the original stained cherry cabinets.
Here are some more pictures of the finished kitchen.
